Maximum prison sentence in Norway is 21 years

Like in most European countries, there is no death penalty. This means that Anders Behring Breivik (32), the alleged mass murderer who killed nearly 100 people in Norway last Friday will serve a maximum of 21 years in prison and will be released afterwards. He will be 53 years old when he walks out of jail.
With the average life expectancy of 81 years in Norway and great prison conditions, odds are he will walk out healthy and have 30 more years to live free.
A prison room in an average prison in Norway looks like a student dormitory room with metal bars over the window (sometimes without). The room has a proper bed, a working desk and a shower.

Boy dies after masturbating 42 times in a row

Today I learned that one can die from excessive masturbation. According to this newspaper, a 16-year old boy died after masturbating 42 times without stopping in Rubiato town, in Goiás region, Brazil.

The young man began to masturbate at midnight and spent the whole night to compulsively touch himself.
At school, his classmates commented on the boy’s problem and some said he asked them to connect to the webcam for being observed.
They further said that his attraction to women was extreme; he was attracted to all kind of women, regardless of texture physics, color and age.
In his room a great amount of pornography was found, including photographs and videos of nude women that were saved on his PC.

Bangladesh village captivated by dog-monkey bond

A dog in remote northeastern Bangladesh has become a minor celebrity by breastfeeding a baby monkey back to health after it was rescued from angry villagers.
Scores of people have flocked to Shipar Reza’s house in Bishwanathpur village to witness the unusual addition to the litter of his dog Mintu, who is also mother to seven puppies.
The baby monkey was just a few days old when villagers seized it from a troop of monkeys that had damaged a paddy rice field, said Reza, a British-Bangladeshi.
‘The next day, the baby monkey joined the other puppies and began suckling with Mintu. Since then Mintu has adopted the abandoned monkey as her own baby. It now sleeps with Mintu and other puppies,’ he said.
‘Mintu barks and reacts angrily if anyone disturbs the baby monkey, which travels around the village by riding on Mintu’s back. It’s now a month since I found the monkey, but she shows no sign of going back to the wild,’ he said

Picking your Nose While Driving will be Illegal

Canada’s Transportation Minister was quoted as saying; “Sure, talking on a cell phone while driving is dangerous but there are many other activities occurring that are just as dangerous if not more-so.” “For example the other day I was almost side-swiped by a man that was completely distracted while picking his nose, and I don’t mean just a nose scratch - he was in up to his knuckle”.
Toronto, Canada - December 5, 2011
For those of you not following the news over in the Great White North I will fill you in a little bit. Last year the ‘distracted driving’ law came into effect, where-as you are not able to talk on a cell phone while driving without the risk of incurring a fine of up to $500. It seems one Canadian politician wants to take it one step further!
Jim Bradlley (Ontario’s transportation minister) made this statement last Thursday after telling reporters he was proud of the new legislation he helped draft.  As they walked away he mentioned his plans to make this law much more encompassing in the near future. He was quoted as saying; “Sure, talking on a cell phone while driving is dangerous but there are many other activities occurring during driving that are just as dangerous if not more-so.” “For example the other day I was almost side-swiped by a man that was completely distracted while picking his nose, and I don’t mean just a nose scratch - he was in up to his knuckle”.
He continued, “There has been testing done that has shown that picking your nose while driving is even more dangerous than using a cell phone because of the high occurrences of physical injury while conducting this type of behavior.” ” I would like to see all types of distractions lead to a hefty fine, my advice for this particular offense would be an $850 fine.”
At least one politician finds those comments worrying. “Everyone should realize there is no place this government will not go intruding into private lives,” Conservative MPP Randy Hillier said. He went on to say, “what is next? No eating broccoli with dinner due to the possibility of passing of gas into the atmosphere thereby increasing global warming?”
Experts have questioned the effectiveness of distracted driving laws. In other jurisdictions they have not always changed drivers’ habits. After an initial reduction in New York, for example, cellphone use was reportedly back to pre-ban rates within one year.
The insurance industry says the new law is a good first step in making distracted driving socially unacceptable. In fact Bill Crespen of Walden’s Insurance says, “personally we would like to see all distractions result in large fines, whether it is picking your nose, applying make-up or talking on a cell phone - they can all potentially kill you”.

Giant Tree Made of Tiny Santa Claus Dolls Delights in Japan

The cute little Santa Clauses are varied in design and size and, judging from the pictures, numerous.
Circling around and up, they stare at you as you walk around and take in the impressive sight.
And when you leave, they talk about you behind your back. Well, presumably.

‘Liking’ Something on Facebook Could Land You Behind Bars in Thailand

Thai authorities are apparently cracking down on virtual dissent, making the ubiquitous Facebook “like” a prosecutable offense if you choose to support specific groups.

Basically, if you “like” a group that expresses anti-monarchy ideals, then you could end up in jail for quite a long time.
This comes on the heels of the arrest of Amphon Tangnoppaku, a 61-year-old man who is serving twenty years behind bars for sending a text message deemed offensive to the queen of Thailand.
Anudith Nakornthap, the country’s information technology minister, said that doing anything similar on Facebook, such as “liking” something offensive, would be considered breaking lèse-majesté laws and could therefore lead to prosecution.
In short, it would be considered “indirectly distributing inappropriate content.”
This blow to freedom of speech has attracted the attention of Amnesty International, which condemned the imprisonment of Tangnoppaku.
Referring to him as a “political prisoner,” Amnesty International’s Benjamin Zawacki Zawacki stated that this form of repression is “the order of the day” in Thailand.

The World’s Largest Family: 181 Live in 100-Room House

For those who may remember the fairy tale that featured that old woman who “lived in a shoe and had so many children that she didn’t know what to do,” here comes a real-life sequel.

Meet the world’s largest family, who presides in Baktwang, India, and lives in a four-story house with 100 rooms.
The head of the family is Ziona Chana, a construction worker, and the 181 members of his family include: him, 39 wives, 94 children, 14 daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren.

Ziona’s youngest child is five years old and the 67-year-old family head insists that he is blessed.
“I consider myself a lucky man to be the husband of 39 women and head of the world’s largest family,” he told the media.
There is a hierarchy of command reminiscent of military training at the family’s 100-room, four-story home.
First wife, Zathiangi, 71, organizes all the others when it comes to household chores. All of the wives in the family have to take turns sleeping in Ziona’s double bed, which has proven to be an extremely fertile sleeping place.
Ziona belongs to and is the leader of the Christian Chana sect, which includes some 4,000 followers and permits polygamy. His marriages seem to be almost noble, as many of his wives were formerly poor and orphaned village women.
Apart from the gargantuan task of doing the laundry, can you imagine mealtime at this household?

Indian Man Refuses to Move into $1 Billion Home Due to Superstition

Giant homes are generally a waste of money and, in some cases, massive eyesores. But in poverty-stricken India, you can’t help but feel a twinge of utter anger at the story of a Mumbai man who built a $1 billion home he doesn’t even live in.

The 27-story building features all the amenities a wealthy person will probably never need: helicopter landing pads, floating gardens, and innumerable parking lots. However, thanks to a bit of superstition, billionaire Mukesh Ambani refuses to move in, rendering everything completely unusable.
Apparently the building lacks the proper feng shui, also known as vastu shastra in India. A lack of eastern-facing windows prevents everything from facing the sunrise, which is considered bad luck.
As a result, the 9th richest man in the world is forced to live in a “modest” 14-story elsewhere in Mumbai. The building of the home, called Antilla (and not Xanadu 2: Electric Boogaloo), has apparently caused cries of outrage due to being what is called an ”ostentatious show of wealth” in poverty-stricken Mumbai.

Jatinga, India: Where Migratory Birds Gather for Mass Suicide

Jatinga is a lush, scenic and usually tranquil Indian village nestled comfortably within the Borail Hills range.
Known as the headquarters of the Dima Hasao district, it is also a famous resting place for many species of migratory birds: including kingfishers, Indian pitta, green-breasted pitta, green pigeons, black drongos, racket-tailed drongos, whistling ducks, spotted doves, emerald doves, and grey heron.

For the last few decades, however, a bizarre and ghastly occurrence has gripped the quiet village.
Most research indicates that birds are most active during the day. But almost every night at sunset between September and November, on a 1.5 kilometer (almost a mile) strip of land, hundreds of birds descend and like a massive dark cloud, crash into buildings and trees at full speed.
The mystery surrounding this phenomenon is even deeper than it seems.
“The most puzzling thing to me about this phenomenon is that so many species of diurnal resident birds should be on the move when, by definition, they should be fast asleep. The problem deserves a deeper scientific study from various angles,” said Salim Ali, India’s leading ornithologist.
Some argue that it isn’t “avian hara-kiri,” as the locals refer to it, but rather a natural occurrence resulting from the birds’ attraction to light and their hapless flight towards anything with a light source.
Some ornithologists believe there is a connection between the phenomenon and the electro-magnetic forces of the area, namely the geographical fault lines that surround Jacinta.
The Jatinga bird occurrence dates back to at least 1905, when the area’s original inhabitants witnessed the startling phenomenon, and although frightened, interpreted it as a gift from the gods.

Indian Child Cries Tears of Stone: A Baffling Medical Mystery

The human body is a wondrous entity, with an amazing network of tissues, muscles, arteries, veins and organs all doing their thing to make everything work the way it should.
Every now and then, however, a bizarre occurrence throws the medical community on its heels, as there are no answers for some things — an uncomfortable but implacable fact.
There was a girl in India who cried tears of blood and to date, there has been no medical explanation as to what caused this anomaly.
Recently, the media covered a new case concerning a seven-year-old Indian child, named Kura Nitya, who cries tears of stone.
The medical community is baffled by this occurrence, which afflicts this child from 12 to 25 times daily.
Although there appears to be no pain associated with the shedding of these stones, which are similar to crystals, her eyes do swell noticeably before the tears fall down her face.
Apart from this bizarre happening, the child is perfectly healthy and shows no indication of any kind of eye infection or other malady.
Family members claim that the tears began about two weeks ago, and at first it was believed to be some sort of sign from God. After prayers failed to relieve the child of this very strange condition, the family reluctantly resorted to medical advice.
But they found no answers there, as not a single eye specialist has been able to explain this very weird phenomenon.
The stones are presently undergoing laboratory tests in hopes of a possible treatment, if not a solution.
There have been a few isolated cases of children shedding tears of stone. One, in particular, was found in Lebanon, which is indicated in the video below, but the cause of that occurrence also has gone unexplained.

Two-headed Cyclops Pig Born in China

Two-headed creatures are rare and somewhat uncomfortable to behold, but they are not unheard of in the natural scheme of things.
We have seen the condition known as polycephaly in many incarnations, including in human beings. Some animals that are sometimes afflicted include cows, snakes, lizards, turtles, dogs, cats and chickens. The word polycephaly is derived from two Greek words: poly, meaning “many” and kephala, meaning “head.”
This past week, a two-headed pig with one eye, was born on Xiao Jintu’s pig farm, which is situated in a remote area, Changtai County, in Fujian Province.
“I’ve been raising pigs for 15 years and I’ve never seen anything like this before … We knew something was different because her head was so large…we had to help when her mother give birth.”
The piglet was of a litter of five and as of yet he has been not given a name. His rarity has saved him from becoming someone’s ham dinner, a dubious honor in the case of this unfortunate animal.
This piglet is not the first two-headed pig ever born, but it is the latest. The mutation rears its ugly head (or in this case, heads) every so often, as illustrated by the included images.

Crazy New Scam in the UK Nets $11 Million in 2 Years

North Wales - The newest scam straight from North Wales in the UK involves faux pregnant women using fake pregnant bellies to blackmail married men they had casual encounters with.
The way it work is they meet these men online through mainstream dating services. They have a one night fling and contact the ‘mark’ 6 months later after sending pregnancy pictures, they meet briefly in person and the men are encouraged to feel the belly where their baby-to-be is living. Then the women says she needs up to $35,000 for a dangerous late-term abortion or even more money so they don’t sue for child support and reveal the affair.
These artificial copies molded from real pregnant women’s bellies are made of silica gel, and are being sold on the Internet. The silica gel makes them take on a very natural quality, close to human skin texture. Some online shop owners have said that the fake bellies are highly comfortable and have a flesh color.
This ring was cracked when police from the North East Wales District picked up Betty Perkforde, this was her 5th arrest for prostitution and she agreed to turn in the ring leader and this pack of grifters.
one of the arresting police officers involved in the case said:
"We were very impressed with the patience and organization this group of scammers exhibited”. “They had no problem siting back and waiting months to re-contact these men and then showed ruthlessness in squeezing as much money as possible out of them”. “This is a whole new twist to prostitution and blackmail”.
When their large Wrexham home was raided they police found detailed ledgers of all the money extorted. In all there was 149 victims over the course of 26 months with £5.7 million euros having changed hands. There was 10 women involved and each would get approximately £8,000 euros per victim with the balance paid to their business manager, AKA; pimp.

Large metal capsule falls to earth, baffles authorities

A mysterious, large metallic ball fell out of the sky on a remote grassland in Namibia, prompting baffled authorities to contact NASA and the European space agency.
The hollow ball with a circumference of 1.1 metres (43 inches) was found near a village in the north of the country some 750 kilometres (480 miles) from the capital Windhoek, according to police forensics director Paul Ludik.
Locals had heard several small explosions a few days beforehand, he said.
With a diameter of 35 centimetres (14 inches), the ball has a rough surface and appears to consist of “two halves welded together”.
It was made of a “metal alloy known to man” and weighed six kilogrammes (13 pounds), said Ludik.
It was found 18 metres from its landing spot, a hole 33 centimetres deep and 3.8 meters wide.
Several such balls have dropped in southern Africa, Australia and Latin America in the past twenty years, authorities found in an Internet search.
The sphere was discovered mid-November, but authorities first did tests before announcing the find.
Police deputy inspector general Vilho Hifindaka concluded the sphere did not pose any danger.
“It is not an explosive device, but rather hollow, but we had to investigate all this first,” he said.

Drunk tried driving hurt deer to hospital

According to Police a very drunk New York man struck a deer with his vehicle.
Feeling guilty, he then tried driving the injured animal to a nearby hospital — for humans.

Police said that 29-year-old Andrew Caswell hit the deer early Monday in the suburban Rochester town of Greece.

Caswell and three other companions argued over what to do with it.Caswell decided to take the deer to nearby hospital.

An officer who pulled the car over, discovered the deer was in the vehicle’s trunk and had died.

Police said Caswell’s blood-alcohol level was .16, twice the legal limit.

Police Chief Todd Baxter said that while trying to save the deer was commendable, “driving while intoxicated will not be tolerated.”

Young Indian Boy Strangled for Having Same Name as Another Man

In a story that is more sad than it is weird, a young Indian boy in Utter Pradesh has been killed, allegedly due to sharing his name with a man who belongs to a higher caste.
Neeraj Young Indian Boy Strangled for Having Same Name as Another Man picture
Neeraj Kumar, the 14-year-old son of Ram Sumer and member of the Dalit caste, was found murdered in a field on November 23 after leaving the evening prior to watch TV at a friend’s house. He was apparently strangled.
Jawahar Chaudhary, who belongs to a higher caste, has reportedly been attempting to get Neeraj’s father, Ram Sumer, to change his sons’ names, as they were the same as Chaudhary’s sons.
Two friends of Chaudhary have been arrested, while his two sons, Neeraj and Dheeraj, are now missing.
Chaudhary claims that the police are framing his family for the murder.
Apparently, the name struggle has been an issue for quite some time, despite the fact that caste discrimination is illegal.
Dalit’s are also known as “untouchables,” the lowest caste in the Hindu caste system.
